Understanding your mental wellness score
The thymia mental wellness score is a key part of your journey with us. Your wellness score isn’t just a number - it’s a reflection of your overall mental wellbeing. The score takes into account your current levels of stress, burnout and fatigue and then puts it all in perspective by comparing it against folks who share your age, birth sex, language and accent. It's personal, it's about you, and it's grounded in our commitment to making mental wellness visible.
How is the thymia wellness score calculated?
The thymia wellness score is calculated based on the average of your fatigue, burnout and stress scores. It’s intended to be a comprehensive view of where you might stand right now.
The voice: why it matters
Your voice carries the weight of your emotions and experiences. From the way you tense and relax your vocal chords, to the way you pronounce various words, to the words themselves which you use to express yourself, all of these and more say a lot about how your mind works and how it is feeling. thymia has collected and analysed hundreds of thousands of minutes of voice recordings, uncovering unique patterns that can tell us about people’s mental health. Our AI analyses your recording to give feedback that is both enlightening and empowering. And because we’re all about doing things right, our ethical AI practices are the gold standard, ensuring you’re in the safest of hands.
Score indicators
All of our scores have been benchmarked to your peer group based on age, birth sex, and accent. Here is a quick breakdown:
Low Score (0-25): Your score is below the average of your peer group.
Mild Score (26-50): Your score is in line with your peer group
Moderate Score (51-75): Your score is somewhat above average.
High Score (76-100): Your score is significantly above the average for your peer group.
What if my score is different than what I expected?
Please remember to be kind to yourself when thinking about your wellness scores. One of the guiding principles of our work at thymia is that of respect. This means understanding that you are the ultimate authority on your mental wellbeing, as you know yourself best! Although thymia provides key indicators, it’s essential to view your score as part of a larger picture of your mental health, influenced by unique life circumstances.
Here's why there might be a difference: thymia is committed to fine-tuning our approach, constantly checking and adjusting for differences among various demographics to make our AI as accurate and inclusive as possible. We're all about diving deep into our AI’s findings, aiming to refine our dataset to mirror the diversity of our users. However, like any dataset, it is important to note that it can never be flawless. We’re on a continuous journey to improve, striving for our models to reflect wellbeing as accurately as humanly possible. So whilst we encourage you to use your scores as a way to engage more in self-reflection and to help monitor fluctuations, at the end of the day, you know yourself best.

Applying your wellness score in daily life
thyma’s mission is to make mental health visible so that it can be better understood, monitored and treated. Integrate the thymia wellness checks into your daily routine and let them be your guide towards a brighter mental wellbeing. From prioritising taking time for yourself to encouraging self-reflection and finding the confidence to make changes that you’ve been holding onto, every check is a step towards understanding and improvement.
Here are a few techniques for incorporating your wellness score into your daily routine:
Reflection: noticing different behaviours and emotions that may be contributing to your wellbeing, to enhance emotional self-awareness.
Validation: reaching an ‘aha moment’ when realising why things might not be going smoothly. Keep in mind that the wellness checks are one piece of a larger mental wellness landscape and don’t provide a complete picture of your life. Only you know exactly how you are feeling and why.
Motivation: ignite a trend of proactive change towards wellness and observe the impact of new methods on improving your mental wellness score.
