One of the guiding principles at thymia is respect. This means understanding that you are the ultimate authority on your mental wellbeing, as you know yourself best!

Though the wellness score picks up signals that are specific to mental and physical wellness, the wellness check will never know everything relevant to you and your specific circumstances. Therefore, it is always possible that something going on in your life can affect a particular score on a particular day. We encourage you to consider your wellness score as an extra piece of information to get a more rounded picture of your mental wellbeing– rather than it being the only piece of the puzzle. The results are designed to empower you, not to replace your own judgement or the expertise of a professional.

Here's why there might be a difference: thymia is committed to fine-tuning our approach. We constantly check and adjust for differences among various demographics, and calculate scores to make our AI as accurate and inclusive as possible. We're all about diving deep into our AI’s findings, aiming to refine our dataset to mirror the diversity of our users. However, like any dataset, it is important to note that it can never be flawless. We’re on a continuous journey to improve, striving for our models to reflect wellbeing as accurately as humanly possible. One of the most important next features we are aiming to release within our app is the ability for every user to give us feedback on their individual scores as frequently as they would like so we can continue to improve our services.

The best way to gain an accurate understanding of your wellbeing is to do regular wellness checks so that you can learn about general trends over time, rather than relying too much on a single score.

Remember that thymia cannot offer you mental health support and should not be consulted instead of seeing a mental health professional. If you are at all concerned about your mental health and wellbeing or anything you see in thymia’s mental wellness score, we strongly recommend you contact your GP or a mental health professional.
